Deep in the Dordogne region of France, an old Perigord farmhouse steps out of its medieval past and into the present. Its owners renovated it with care and respect for the structure's early integrity while making it habitable with such modern comforts as central heating. Decoration is minimal, in keeping with both Bauhaus and medieval restraint, so even a massive modernist painting is at home there.
