Maus Park House
An enchanting old stone landmark, furnished with the finest antiques, transports its visitors to a faraway destination: the English countryside. In 1850 John Maus built this splendid example of Scottish Baronial architecture using stones from local Canadian quarries. Cool in summer and warm in winter, the one foot thick stone walls provide the perfect insulation.

Stone Over Brione
Standing resilutely like a fortress over the city and lake of Locarno, Switzerland, this stunning home incorporates the best of both worlds: traditional stone masonry enforced with the clean contemporary lines of concrete. The house feels both comfortable and protective, evoking a sense that one could get from an old castle. It emits a sense of quality and understated elegance that is uncommon in most modern houses. The architectural firm of Wespi De Meuron has shown remarkable self constraint. Nothing in this house is overdone. Both less and more.

Joseph Dirand
"What people remember of places is really a feeling about them."
It would be hard not to remember the amazing buildings of French architect Joseph Dirand. Even his photographs convey feelings of great strength and passion.

My Million-Dollar Trailer Kitchen
coming soon...
Meanwhile I'm trying to corral this bucking-bronco-itus (something bronchial, I forget what the doctor called it) before it goes fullblown asthmatic on me. Paint fumes just don't mix with inhalers. But I did manage to get the first coat of paint on the cabinets and I used Benjamin Moore's Iron Gate on both uppers and lowers. Looks really good. Rich. Really rich. For a trailer.

Taste Testing in the Kitchen: The Color Gray
When a complete color change is in order, it helps to get lots of inspiration, visualization, encouragement and a nice pat on the back. For gray kitchens, this is it. Have a look:

Gray in Any Tongue
And if you can read that you can read the rest of the article over at Sköna hem.
